Unite Southampton

The conversion of a redundant HSBC bank in Southampton into an office and conference facility.

The conversion of this redundant bank in the centre of Southampton involved taking the building back to shell and core and completely restructuring the building internally including removing vaults while adding an additional light weight structure to the first floor creating the new second floor to house a large conference suite. The introduction of a platform lift shaft and new main passenger lift to serve all floors to provide step free access throughout the building was included. The new mechanical and electrical installation provided an energy efficient space with individual control to each room, while new commercial glazing transformed the exterior appearance. The interior finishes included veneered doors and frames, structural glass partitions and a mix of MF and lay in ceilings. The new toilets included custom IPS panels, Corian vanity units along with floor to ceiling tiling. FSL supplied the furniture, exterior signage and roller blinds to complete the project.
